In the spirit of Berkshire’s Hathaway’s annual meeting this weekend, we thought it would be good to put together a list of articles and links that may be interesting for Buffett followers. We’ll continue to update this from time to time as we find interesting Buffett-related commentary.
- Berkshire Hathaway’s annual letters (1977-2015) – Buffett’s shareholder letters are jam-packed with Buffett wisdom. Must-reads.
- If you don’t have the $219,000 to put up for Berkshire’s A shares, the company’s B shares are another option. WSJ has a good read on the creation of that class of stock.
- Ever wanted to track Berkshire’s stock holdings in real-time or see the value of each stock? Alex Crippen over at CNBC maintains a nice Buffett/Berkshire Portfolio Tracker.
- Ben Graham’s book, The Intelligent Investor, influenced Buffett tremendously and helped shape Buffett’s value investing methodology.
- The articles about what Buffett is, or should be, buying are plentiful. Two recent pieces caught our eye – one from Kiplinger Magazine and one from Morningstar.
- Validea’s Buffett Model and Portfolio. Based on the book Buffettology, the Buffett-inspired strategy is a high-quality and value approach. The model portfolio picked with the approach has been tracked since late ’03.
- The Superinvestors of Graham and Doddsville — Buffett’s own argument that the market was not efficient and that great value investors had shown this.
- Excellent interview a few years ago with Jason Zweig and Charlie Munger on what Buffett’s investing advantages are. Patience and gumption are two of the main ingredients.

- The best advice Buffett ever got: In 2009, Fortune asked Buffett what the best investing advice he ever received was. Here’s his answer, which involves wisdom passed down from Benjamin Graham.
- Buffett’s “Buy American” appeal: In late 2008, when most investors were heading for the hills amid the financial crisis and Great Recession, Buffett penned an op-ed for the New York Times in which he urged the public to buy American stocks, which he said were offering great value. The advice turned out to be prescient.
- The science of Buffett’s strategy: This study, performed by Andrea Frazzini, David Kabiller, and Lasse H. Pedersen, examined Buffett’s long-term performance and found some interesting reasons for his success, namely a tendency to bet on “low-beta” stocks and use leverage.
