Should you focus your investing efforts in the U.S., or emerging markets? In his latest column for Forbes.com, Validea CEO John Reese says some elite strategists are saying you don’t have to choose.
“Earlier this year, Charles Schwab’s Liz Ann Sonders said that her favorite ’emerging market’ was, in fact, ‘Middle America,’ where an energy and manufacturing renaissance is occurring,” writes Reese. “She told the Financial Planning Association’s New York chapter that on a trip she’d made to China, several representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce told her they planned on bringing their businesses back to the U.S. over the next decade amid the shift.”
Sonders isn’t alone, Reese says, noting that other top strategists like Nancy Lazar are expressing similar views. He thus looks at five U.S. industrial stocks that get high scores from his Guru Strategies, each of which is based on the approach of a different investment great. Among them: Raven Industries.
