Where's The Beef? Winters Says The Best Cuts Are On The Sale Rack

Top fund manager David Winters says he’s seeing a lot of strong value stocks selling at great prices in the current market.

Winters tells Yahoo! Finance’s Daily Ticker that as “the bloom has come off the rose” of the “most speculative securities” investors are “realizing you’d rather go for the steak than the sizzle. … We think there’s a lot of steak out there that’s available for big discounts: you can get filet mignon for chuck prices.”

Among the stocks Winters thinks look very attractive: Union Pacific railroad and Berkshire Hathaway. “The size of it makes it harder to have the wild compounding that’s existed in the past [but] we think Berkshire will be fine,” he says of the latter.
