Fisher: Buy Growth -- And Value

Top strategist Kenneth Fisher says that when it comes to growth or value, investors should choose both.

“Many investors struggle with this because they feel compelled to pigeonhole themselves into one style,” Fisher writes in his Forbes column. “They often pick a strategy simply because it feels right in their gut. Value often smells better to a different breed of investor than growth does. But having different types of stocks in your portfolio can enhance returns.”

Fisher looks at a handful of stocks — some growth, some value — that he likes right now. Among them: tech firm Cisco Systems, which he says has morphed from a highflier into a value play.
