While many major market indices are at or near all-time highs, top fund manager David Winters says you can still find value if you look in the right places.
“You just have to be selective about what you buy,” Winters tells Yahoo! Finance Canada. For example, he thinks the North American oil boom is making several companies look attractive. One of them: Canadian Natural Resources, an independent oil and natural gas exploration and production company. While oil prices have been declining, Winters says our “petroleum-based society” means the stock can withstand price fluctuations, adding that Canada is a “safe place” for oil.

The oil boom in North America also means more demand for transportation of fuel. That’s part of why Winters is high on Union Pacific.
Winters also talks about where he is finding value overseas, and why he remains down on Coca-Cola.
